Michelle Brotherton is the author of the forthcoming novel, Gather No Wood. After seventeen years in Manhattan nightlife, she left the Lower East Side for the Hudson Valley to focus on writing. Her short fiction appears in Talking River Review. A second book, a short story collection, is in progress. 


Michelle holds an MFA in Writing from Columbia University where she was a Dean's Fellow in the School of the Arts.


Her volunteer work as a clinic escort and lobbyist with Planned Parenthood informs her writing, especially on issues of public health and social justice. 


She lives in Kingston, New York with her partner and two cats.
